You can still use the computer to control the music or if that's inconvenient Audirvana provides an app that works on a phone or a tablet to control playback on the computer. In this case, the computer is connected to the hifi system. Or if you have an external DAC, it supports it too. If your receiver or integrated amp has a high quality USB DAC you can connect via the USB port to the computer or RCA. The beauty of Audirvana is its much more robust than other streaming configurations as it loads the music to the computer so any minor interruption in your internet connectivity will not cause the music to be interrupted. If the receiver supports DLNA/UPnP (which most modern receivers offer), then you can connect via the wifi network. You can connect Audirvana to your receiver or preamp via wifi or a cable it's up to you. After awhile I wasn't even using Tidal - just Qobuz. I started with Tidal and Qobuz and found Qobuz has many more hi-res tracks.
